MS Intune connector: Performance and consistency improvements

  • The Microsoft Intune connector now leverages the Microsoft Graph Report APIs for inventory retrieval, offering significant improvements in the following areas:
    • Enhanced Retry Policy: Implemented an exponential backoff strategy for more robust and reliable data retrieval.
    • Optimized Data Aggregation: Data aggregation time has been significantly reduced for faster performance.
    • Seamless Data Retrieval: No application loss during data retrieval process. (04792808)

Cisco WebEx connector: Migration to REST APIs
(CDC-5340)

  • Following Cisco's announcement regarding the deprecation of WebEx Meetings XML APIs and the transition to REST APIs, we have updated the Cisco WebEx connector to support the new REST APIs.

Important: As a result of this change, customers will need to reconfigure their Cisco WebEx connector. Detailed instructions for the configuration process can be found in the updated connector user guide.

  • The Aggregation History tab in SIM now features two additional status types: Completed with Warnings and Completed with Errors. This enhancement boosts productivity by enabling users to take prompt actions based on the integration status of their data. It also helps maintain licensing compliance by identifying potential gaps during data imports, allowing for a quick resolution. (SNOW-I-2209)

Active Directory Discovery connector: Better insights into aggregation status and issues
(CDC-5478)

  • The connector now provides enhanced error tracking and visibility during the data aggregation. Any errors or warnings encountered are captured and displayed under the Aggregation History tab, allowing for smooth monitoring and troubleshooting.

Active Directory Discovery connector: Enhanced aggregation process
(CDC-5526)

  • The connector now ensures that the export of devices and users is complete before marking the aggregation process as done. This enhancement addresses the scenario where, previously during manual aggregation, the UI dialog had indicated the aggregation process complete while still exporting the files.

Active Directory Discovery connector: Enhanced configuration and user experience

  • Renamed the Name in connector configuration setting to Site Name for clarity and data source identification.

Migration of MS AD Discovery functionality to SIM

The existing functionality for discovering Active Directory users and computers in Snow Inventory and Snow Extender has been migrated to Snow Integration Manager as an independent connector. This new connector offers several benefits to our customers and partners:

  • Flexible scheduling: The connector enables flexible scheduling of AD Discovery and allows multiple connectors to be scheduled at different time slots, similar to other SIM connectors.
  • Comprehensive service health information: The connector provides detailed information on the service's health, including its operational status, last start date, next start date, and success rate.
  • Efficient handling of multiple ADs: The connector supports the management of multiple Active Directories, allowing you to configure separate connectors for each domain.
  • Independent connector testing: You can now test the connectors independently, improving troubleshooting and configuration processes.
  • Customizable filtering: The connector offers you the flexibility to include or exclude users and devices during data import.

When migrating your existing Microsoft Active Directory (MS AD) configuration from Snow Inventory and Snow Extender to the new MS AD connector in SIM, ensure that you use the same configuration settings. This will help prevent any potential issues, such as data duplication.

Code signing added

  • Code signing has been implemented for the MSI installer and all associated executables, including the Service, Configuration GUI, and Tray applications. This enhances security by verifying the integrity and authenticity of the software components. (04778165)

BMC Discovery connector: Enhanced filtering criteria section in user guide
(CDC-5327)

  • We have improved the Filtering and the Attribute names sections in the user guide to provide more comprehensive details. These enhancements aim to assist users in effectively defining the filtering criteria within the Connector Configuration window of the UI. (SNOW-I-2226)

HCL BigFix connector: End of support provided for deprecated ILMT API endpoints
(CDC-5366)

  • Due to IBM’s announcement regarding the deprecation of BigFix ILMT V2 APIs, the BigFix connector for Snow Integration Manager has been updated.
    • Deprecated API endpoints have been replaced with new V2 alternatives, including Computers V2, License Usage V2, and Software Instance V2.
    • Additionally, resolved an issue related to software inventory reporting within the connector.

Ivanti Endpoint Manager connector: Retrieval of Linux OS information

  • The query for fetching the Operating System details has been updated to support Linux OS, improving software recognition and license compliance across different platforms. (04776863)

Microsoft Hyper-V connector: Retrieval of High availability (HA) settings at the data-center level

  • To enhance visibility and license compliance, the connector is now able to retrieve the High Availability (HA) status when this is enabled at the data-center level. (SNOW-I-1783)

Google Workspace connector: Proxy support integration

  • Proxy support is integrated into the connector for a secure communication. The proxy settings can be easily configured and managed from the Proxy Profiles tab in Snow Integration Manager. (SNOW-I-2148)

Salesforce Sales Cloud connector: Retrieval of unique Account type ID

  • We have introduced the retrieval of a unique account type id for each Salesforce connector. This will ensure that data from different Salesforce connectors are not grouped together in Snow Atlas UI, providing better oversight and compliance. (04783627)

  • BMC Helix ITSM connector: Resolved an issue that causes duplicates of user data when a user owns multiple devices. The fix ensures an accurate and unique user information in BMC Helix CMDB.

  • The Extract hostname from server name checkbox previously relied on the Hardware serial number property to contain the hostname. It is now updated to use the ManagedServerTagTemplate from BigFix Inventory, to parse the hostname component from the server name.
  • The default tag template is _%VENDOR %TYPE %HOSTNAME_. (04741557)

This may create duplicates in cases where previously the Hardware serial number was used and it did not contain the %HOSTNAME component in the server name.

Citirx Hypervisior connector - Added support for “ScanStatusReport”

VMware Workspace ONE: Changed model information source for mobile devices

  • Optimized the fetching of device model information by changing the device model information source for mobile devices from OEMInfo to Model, using the Workspace ONE MDM API.

Adobe Creative Cloud connector: Support for OAuth Server-to-Server credentials

  • The connector now supports the OAuth Server-to-Server authentication due to the existing JWT tokens being deprecated in the Adobe APIs. JWT configured connectors will continue working until Jan 27, 2025.

Microsoft 365 connector: Batch size configuration

  • Introduced the capability to configure batch sizes for Microsoft 365 exports. This empowers the users to adjust settings to address communication issues with Snow License Manager, thereby enhancing the flexibility and the performance optimization.

  • Microsoft Intune connector:
    • Improved Retry Mechanism: A configurable retry delay option is added to the connector. This feature ensures that a delay is applied when no retry-after value is present in the header upon receiving a 429 - too many requests status from the Graph API. This prevents the accumulation of such responses and avoids reaching the maximum retry limit for a single request. Additionally, to further enhance reliability, the maximum number of retries is increased from 5 to 10. (04739188)
    • Enhanced Batch Procedure: A configurable batch delay is introduced to mitigate the loss of devices-per-application data during the batch call procedure. This enhancement ensures reliable and smooth data retrieval. (04739188)
