7.4.0 latest
Release date: 2025-09-25
New
Cloud Instance Id
(PLAT-38805)
- The agent now adds the Cloud Instance Id as part of the main inventory in the snowpack.
It is now included under the<SystemIdentifier>
tag inside the inv3x.xml file.
To view Cloud Instance Ids in Snow License Manager, version 25.1.0 or later is required.
Oracle Inventory
(PLAT-25470)
- The agent now caches the file scan into a file
oracle_filesearch_results.out
to avoid duplicate file scans for the Oracle Scanners.
- The agent now includes the Oracle scanners log files into the snowpack. This will help with troubleshooting of the same.
- The agent will now execute all Oracle Scanners during a scan.
This enhancement eliminates the need to configure separate schedules for SIOHWS, SIJS and SIOMS.
For the new Oracle behavior in the Snow agent to take effect, it is required to update the Oracle Scanners to the following versions:
- Snow Inventory Oracle Middleware Scanner (SIOMS) 3.4.0 or later.
- Snow Inventory Java Scanner (SIJS) 3.4.0 or later.
- Snow Inventory Oracle Hardware Scanner (SIOHWS) 2.3.0 or later.
- Snow Inventory Oracle Scanner (SIOS) 8.7.0 or later.
Enhancements
Oracle Inventory
(PLAT-25520)
- The agent now supports multiple Java home paths for Oracle execution.
Users can specify a semi-colon “;“ separated list of potential Java installation locations in the system settings.
The agent will automatically use the first valid path it finds on the system, streamlining configuration and improving flexibility in environments with multiple Java installations.
For consistency across platforms, the env.java_home must be configured with the path to the installation directory only, not the complete path to the java binary.
Corrections
Installer Evidence
(PLAT-42914)
- The agent now correctly links the package name, retrieved from the package manager, to the corresponding files identified during the file scan.
7.3.1
Release date: 2025-05-07
Corrections
- The agent now reports its install date as expected, instead of incorrectly reporting the scan date as the install date.
- The agent now correctly reports Google as the manufacturer for Google Cloud virtual machines, instead of Open Virtualization Alliance.
7.3.0
Release date: 2025-04-10
Enhancements
Installer Evidence
(PLAT-23191)
- The agent now collects installer evidence for RPM and DPKG package managers.
Corrections
- The agent will no longer duplicate the reported logical disks.
7.2.0
Release date: 2025-02-12
When executing the command "snowagent version", this release will be identified as BETA. This is a mislabel and will be fixed on the next release.
Enhancements
File Scanning
(CDC-4934)
- The agent can now scan information of non-executable files, such as plugins. (SNOW-I-594)
7.1.1
Release date: 2024-11-06
Corrections
- A potential buffer overflow vulnerability, where supplying an update package signed by an AES key bigger than 16 bytes would lead to memory corruption, has been fixed.
- The agent would hang during scan in specific scenarios where autofs cannot mount a drive in a timely manner. Now it ignores autofs mounts as expected. (04788017)
7.1.0
Release date: 2024-10-02

The minimum required version of glibc changed from 2.12 to 2.17.
