Snow Inventory File Extractor
Improved handling of snowpacks containing multiple files with the same name.

  • Snow Inventory File Extractor now extracts all the files in a snowpack when they have the same name, placing them in separate folders.

Corrections​

  • The logging readability related to HTTP connection issues has been improved (04746886).

  • The file snowserveruninstall.exe is now included in the update of a Service Gateway installation.

  • Inventory Server validates file paths and is no longer vulnerable to symlink attacks that could result in arbitrary file manipulation.

(EUC-12484)

  • Inventory scan files with a timestamp later than the processing date, offset by plus 1 day, are now considered invalid and will be discarded, generating a warning entry in the server log file.

(EUC-12486)

  • The date of the last inventory scan for a computer is now consistent when the computer and its reporting Inventory Server lie across the International Date Line.

(EUC-12702)

  • Inventory scan files that only report application usage, and no evidence of installed software, no longer cause previously reported installed applications to be removed.

  • Invalid snowpacks are now handled correctly and no longer stop file processing.

(EUC-13754)

  • The DiscoveryClientIdMapWorker module now validates topological identities before attempting to match them with existing data (03040032).

Discovery features
Deprecation of the discovery features
(EUC-13526)

  • The discovery features integrated in the Inventory Server service are now deprecated and will be removed in a future release. The equivalent functionalities are now provided by the Snow Integration Manager connectors.

The affected modules are:

  • ActiveDirectoryDiscovery
  • ActiveDirectoryUserDiscovery
  • NetworkDiscovery
