2.1.0 latest

Release date: 2024-05-08

COMPATIBLE VERSIONS

Snow Inventory Agent for WindowsMicrosoft PowerShell
5 or later3 and later

INFORMATION

The script Scan-MicrosoftSharepoint.ps1 is designed to enhance and accurately detect installation of Microsoft Project Server, which is installed as part of a Microsoft SharePoint installation. This allows for a more precise capture of data related to Microsoft Project Server installations.

The script must be executed as part of the Snow Inventory Agent for Windows. For more information, see Running PowerShell scripts as part of the scanning process on Snow Docs.

If you want to run a manual scan, you must execute the script with the appropriate permissions. Execute using sc.exe control SnowInventoryAgent5 128, as described in the Windows Agent - Command line topic on Snow Docs.

The script requires the Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell snap-in for proper execution. Prior to running the script, ensure the 'Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell' snap-in is installed on your system.

Use this command Get-PSSnapin -registered to see all registered snap-ins on your system or confirm a specific snap-in's status.

FUNCTION

The script uses the Get-ProjectServerLicense command to retrieve all license information related to Microsoft Project Server from the machine.

The script also checks if the Microsoft Project Server is active or not. If the Microsoft Project Server is active, the script takes this information and converts it into raw data rows. These rows can then be handled by the Snow Inventory Agent and Inventory Server.

The script is now updated to create a data row to recognize itself.

MediumIntegrity

This script does need medium integrity.

Troubleshooting

Custom encryption might need to be applied to this script when running on Snow Inventory Agent for Windows prior to version 7, as it will not be executed in medium integrity.

CORRECTIONS

  • File encoding changed to UTF-8-BOM to prevent HashMismatch errors (04771125).

DEPRECATED

  • There will be no encrypted snow-ps1 version of this script provided by Snow Software.
