Computers: Reference

Refer to the tables below for field descriptions when you want to view the details of a specific computer in SAM Core on Snow Atlas.

Summary

The top of the computer page shows the installed operating system and alerts related to the specific computer. There is also a summary showing information on usage and cost.

Field label	Description
Applications	The number of applications installed on the computer.
Users	The number of users of the computer.
Cost	The total cost of the computer.
Last scanned	The date of the most recent update of computer data reported to SAM Core on Snow Atlas.

Applications

The Applications tab shows information on the applications installed on the computer.

Field label	Description
Name	The name of the application.
Metric	The metric describes the licensing conditions and is the unit of measure for the application.
First discovered	The date when the application was first discovered on the computer.
Last used	The date and time when the application was most recently run.
Requirement	The number of required licenses for the installed application.
Entitlement state	The entitlement state of the application describes to what extent a certain consumer (computer, user, or device) is covered.
Remark	The remark is used for additional information and consists of an abbreviation with one to three capital letters. For more information, see Remarks.

An arrow next to the application name is available for all applications with a registered usage. Select the arrow to expand a list of users who have used the application on the specific computer.

Field label	Description
Name	The name of the user including information on domain and username.
Last used	The date and time when the user most recently used the application on the computer.
Run	The number of times the user has used the application on the computer.
Total time (days:hh:mm)	The total time the user has used the application on the computer displayed in days, hours, and minutes.

If you use the application allowlist and application denylist functionality in SAM Core, the applications may be shown with a background color. For more information, see Application allowlist and denylist.

Users

The Users tab shows information on the users who have signed in to the computer.

Field label	Description
Name	The user's name.
Last sign in	The date when the user most recently signed in.
Logon count	The number of times that the user has signed in.

Hardware

The Hardware tab shows basic hardware information gathered from the computer during the inventory.

Field label	Description
Name	The name of the hardware item.
Value	The corresponding value of the hardware item.

note

The number of Logical processors is not included when calculating the compliance.

Information

The Information tab shows general information on the computer.

Field label	Description
Type	The type shows if the information is, for example, collected during inventory or maintained manually. For more information, see Information types.
Name	The name of the information item.
Value	The corresponding value of the information item.

Financial info

The Financial info tab shows financial information on the computer.

Field label	Description
Name	The name of the financial information item.
Value	The corresponding value of the financial information item.

Devices

The Devices tab shows information on the devices that have connected to the computer by using, for example, RDP or Citrix, or via a virtual desktop connection.

Field label	Description
Device/Computer	The name of the device.
Inventoried	Shows if the device is inventoried or not.
Last used	The date of the most recent connection.

Remote servers

The Remote servers tab shows information on the servers that the computer has connected to as a terminal by using, for example, RDP or Citrix.

Field label	Description
Server name	The name of the server.
Last used	The date of the most recent connection.

Virtual machines

The Virtual machines tab shows information on the virtual machines running on the computer.

Field label	Description
Computer name	The name of the virtual machine.
Operating system	The operating system of the virtual machine.
Last scanned	The date of the most recent data update.
Power state	Shows if the virtual machine is PoweredOn, PoweredOff, or Unknown.
Processors	The number of processors of the virtual machine, if inventoried.
Cores/processor	The number of cores per processor of the virtual machine, if inventoried.
Inventoried	Shows if the virtual machine is inventoried or not.

Virtual desktops

The Virtual desktops tab shows information on the virtual desktops that the computer has connected to.

Field label	Description
Computer name	The name of the virtual desktop.
Last used	The date of the most recent connection.

Printers

The Printers tab shows information on the printers that the computer has connected to. The information is based on the identified printer drivers installed on the computer.

Field label	Description
Printer name	The name of the printer.
Driver name	The name of the installed printer driver.
Default	If this setting is selected, the printer is set as the default printer of the computer.

Documents

The Documents tab shows manually uploaded documents and links related to the computer.

Field label	Description
Title	The title of the document or link.
Saved	The date when the document or link was added.

Oracle

The Oracle tab shows information on Oracle database products running on the computer and associated Oracle orders.

Field label	Description
Database	The name of the Oracle database.
Instance name	The name of the Oracle instance(s).
Product name	The name of the Oracle product.
Version	The version of the Oracle product.

Field label	Description
Order name	The name of the Oracle order associated with the server.
Oracle order number	The order number of the Oracle order.
Product name	The name of the Oracle product on the Oracle order.
CSI	The Oracle Customer Support Identifier number is a unique, numerical number assigned to the products and quantities within an original license agreement.
Metric	The metric describes the licensing conditions and is the unit of measure for the application.
