Manage IP policies
Learn how to manage your IP policies in your Snow Atlas system.
Add IP policies
In each IP policy that you create, you can add the IP addresses permitted to access your Snow Atlas system for a specific group, for example, all the permitted IP addresses for an office or facility in your organization.
Ensure that you add your current IP address to an IP policy to prevent losing access to your Snow Atlas system, and your current IP address must be part of the first IP policy that you enable.
-
On the Snow Atlas settings menu, under Account, select IP policies.
-
Select Add IP policy.
-
Enter a name for the IP policy.
-
Optional: To have the IP policy applied immediately when you save it, select the Enabled toggle.
tipYou can also enable or disable the IP policy later from the IP policies page. For more information, see Enable or disable IP policies.
Access to your Snow Atlas system is restricted when at least one IP policy is enabled. If you enabled the policy in step 4, it is applied. If you left the policy disabled, you can enable it later. For more information, see Enable or disable IP policies.
Enable or disable IP policies
An IP policy is only applied if it is enabled. When one or more IP polices are enabled, only the IP addresses included in those policies have access to your Snow Atlas system. All other IP addresses are denied access to your Snow Atlas system.
If you disable all of your IP policies, access is permitted to your Snow Atlas system from any IP address.
-
On the IP policies page, select the IP polices that you want to enable or disable.
-
From Actions, select Enable or Disable.
You can also enable or disable an IP policy when you add or edit it.
Edit IP policies
You can edit only one IP policy at a time.
When you make changes, ensure that your current IP address remains part of an enabled IP policy to prevent losing access to your Snow Atlas system.
-
On the IP policies page, select the IP policy that you want to edit.
-
From Actions, select Edit.
-
Do any of the following:
- Make changes to the existing details.
- To add more IP addresses, select Add more IP addresses.
- To remove a row from your IP policy, select the trash icon to the right of that row. You cannot include an empty row in the IP policy.
-
Select Save.
Access to your Snow Atlas system is restricted when at least one IP policy is enabled. If you enabled this policy, it is applied. If the policy is disabled, you can enable it later. For more information, see Enable or disable IP policies.
Delete IP policies
If you delete all of your enabled IP policies, access is permitted to your Snow Atlas system from any IP address.
If you are not deleting all of your enabled IP policies, ensure that your current IP address remains part of an enabled IP policy to prevent losing access to your Snow Atlas system.
-
On the IP policies page, select the IP policies that you want to delete.
-
From Actions, select Delete.
-
In Delete IP policy, select Delete.
